We all have those times where we just can’t seem to get enough sleep. There are many reasons for this from stress and worry, to poor diet. In this blog we will look at the ways you can get a better night sleep so you can wake up fresh and ready for the day ahead.
1. Your bed – This is an obvious one, but if your bed or mattress is not comfortable then you will find it harder to get to sleep or stay a sleep. If you need to replace your bed why not take a look at our range of Sherborne adjustable beds over at adjustablebeds4u.co.uk
2. Routine – A good routine will help promote a good sleeping pattern. Try and set a good sleeping schedule. Remember that an average adult will need around 7.5 to 9 hours sleep.
3. Body temperature – Being too hot or too cold can affect your sleep. Anything that makes you uncomfortable can result in you waking up at ridiculous hours. If you get too hot try sleeping with a thinner quilt or use special cooling pillows.
4. Eating times – having a stomach that is too full or too empty can be bad for your sleep. This may cause you to wake up. If you are going to eat or drink before bed try to do it at least 1 hour before you sleep.
Remember if you are looking to improve your night sleep our range of Sherborne adjustable beds might be the solution you are looking for.

Adjustable Beds
We’ve all heard of adjustable beds, and many of us have
tried them out either in our own homes, friends’ homes, hotels’ or maybe in a showroom or shop. But where did they come
from and where are they going to? Hopefully this will give you an insight into
those questions.
Sherborne King Size Adjustable Bed |
There is plenty of evidence that adjustable beds have been
around since the 16th century, mainly developed for care of the sick
or disabled person under medical supervision or doctors’ orders. As far back as
this it would of course only have been the wealthy and powerful that could have
afforded a luxury such as a bed with adjustments which alter the angle of the
legs, feet or head and shoulders. A bed
such as this would have been adjusted not by the user, but by the carers or
indeed staff of the beds occupant.
Over the years the adjusting beds have been brought into
many medical locations and there are a wide variety of hospital and care beds
which feature electrical operating angled head and leg rests, as well as side
rails which adjust in height and also an overall height variation mechanism.
The modern domestic adjustable bed can now be found at very
reasonable prices and throughout homes across the world. They are now purchased
by many people for varying reasons and not just for medical needs. A lifting
head end of a bed is more suited for sitting up and reading or watching
television, and lifting foot end mechanisms will also help those world weary
legs at the end of a long day shopping, working or sporting activities.
Most adjustable beds now are electrically operated with the
touch of a button on a handset which sits at either side of the beds. However
they can also be supplied with apps to download to your smart phone or tablet
computer.
There are many choices of mattress available but mostly the
latex foam and pressure reliever foams are more popular on these beds as they
mould to the shape of the bed base well, and also give extra support around the
user’s joints to promote a more restful sleep. Nowadays adjustable beds are made
to look part of the normal furnishings of the home and therefore they have
stylish and matching headboards as well as full deep divan bases in a
collection of beautiful fabrics.
One important factor with all adjustable beds is that they
are reliable. All our beds are supplied with a full manufacturers’ 5 year warranty against any mechanical fault or electrical failure. This includes a
full home call out service so you can rest easy in mind as well as body !
